Product Reviews

Although I rarely review products I did not purchase, I have done so three times in the past. Each time the product was relevant to the focus of this blog.

Here are my past reviews, with full disclosure:
  • Historic Photos of Paris: I accepted this offer because as a history major and Paris lover, it interested me and was a good match for the focus of this blog.
  • Ships of the Great Lakes Cookbook: This is one of three posts, but it explains why I accepted this offer. My chef father earned his chops on a Great Lakes freighter.
  • Baked Brie with Cherries and Pecans: I accepted this challenge and the free package of Brie that came with it, in part because a branch of my family tree originates in Melun, France, where Brie is made.

I will accept review copies of books and other items if they meet one of the following requirements:
  • Food produced in Wisconsin or Michigan, such as cheese, cranberries, cherries, wild rice, sausage and any other items that represent the state's food and agriculture industry;
  • Kitchen-related items produced in Wisconsin or Upper Michigan;
  • Books relating to Wisconsin's or Michigan's culinary traditions, food industry history, French Canadian history or culture;
  • Books relating to French culinary tradition, whether in the U.S. or Europe;
  • Other items to be determined on a case-by-case basis.
